Eguavoen Eyes Second Win as Super Eagles Face Rwanda

Super Eagles interim coach Augustine Eguavoen is determined to keep the winning momentum going as Nigeria faces Rwanda today at the Amahoro Stadium in Kigali.
Eguavoen, in his first game and fourth spell as Super Eagles coach, led the team to a 3-0 win over Benin Republic on Saturday.
“We play to win all the time, because Nigerians expect their team to win all the time,” Eguavoen stated. “We have a team with great personnel; we respect every opponent but we don’t get intimidated.”
The coach emphasized that the primary objective for today’s game is to secure the three points.
Echoing the coach’s sentiments, team captain William Troost-Ekong expressed the team’s unified goal during the pre-match press conference. “We are here for a purpose. With Coach Eguavoen, who has coached the team before, we all feel like a family. We will play for each other and aim for the three points to top the table.”
Nigeria’s match against Rwanda is part of their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign, kicking off at 2pm (Nigeria time).
This encounter is the first of four upcoming matches between the two teams, including World Cup qualifiers next year.
