EFCC Deletes Post on Diezani’s Alleged Plea to Tinubu Amid Uproar
The post suggested she wished to return to Nigeria, confess financial misconduct during her ministerial term, and cited health issues.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) deleted a social media post claiming that Diezani Alison-Madueke, former minister of petroleum resources, pleaded with President Bola Tinubu for leniency.
The post suggested she wished to return to Nigeria, confess financial misconduct during her ministerial term, and cited health issues.
However, the EFCC swiftly removed the post from Instagram as it circulated widely.
Alison-Madueke, accused of corruption since leaving office in 2015, is currently on trial in the UK for bribery charges.
The EFCC alleges she embezzled $2.5 billion, with extradition proceedings initiated against her.
