Edo : Senator Okpebholo Declared Winner in Parallel APC Primary
This announcement contradicted Governor Hope Uzodimma’s declaration of Dennis Idahosa as the winner, leading to a dispute over the legitimacy of the process.

In a parallel APC primary election in Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo emerged as the winner, declared by APC State Returning Officer Ogbuaja Stanley Uzoamaka.
This announcement contradicted Governor Hope Uzodimma’s declaration of Dennis Idahosa as the winner, leading to a dispute over the legitimacy of the process.
The Uzodimma-led election faced disruption from suspected thugs, causing a change in the collation venue. Despite the chaos, Governor Uzodimma defended the legitimacy of his declaration.
The APC officially endorsed the Uzodimma-led election and urged disregarding the results announced by unauthorized individuals.
This marked the end of a series of events involving 12 cleared candidates, with Osagie Ize-Iyamu withdrawing from the primary on the eve of the election.
