Godwins, who assumed office following Sahib’s impeachment by the Edo State House of Assembly earlier that day, expressed his gratitude for the opportunity, highlighting the importance of loyalty in politics.

He stated that he was unaware of the specifics of the discord between Obaseki and Shaibu, asserting that his focus is on fulfilling his duties.

Additionally, he expressed his commitment to making a meaningful impact during his tenure as deputy governor, regardless of its duration.
