Edison Ehie resigns as Rivers Assembly Member, Speaker
In a letter addressed to INEC Chairman Professor Mahmood Yakubu dated December 29, 2023, Ehie formally notified of his voluntary resignation, effective immediately.


Rt Hon Edison Ehie has officially resigned from his role as the representative for Ahoada East in the Rivers State House of Assembly and as the speaker of a legislative group.
In a letter addressed to INEC Chairman Professor Mahmood Yakubu dated December 29, 2023, Ehie formally notified of his voluntary resignation, effective immediately.
The letter expressed appreciation to colleagues and constituents for the opportunity to serve, concluding with a commitment to continue delivering his best in future service to Rivers State.
Notably, the resignation letter did not provide specific reasons for his decision to step down from both positions.
