Folasade Tinubu-Ojo, daughter of President Bola Tinubu, has urged traders in Lagos state to prevent their children from participating in the upcoming nationwide protest.

As the Iyaloja-general of Lagos, Tinubu-Ojo appealed to the women to ensure their children stay home, emphasizing the significant progress the state government has made in improving lives.

Referencing the #EndSARS protest, Tinubu-Ojo noted that many are still recovering from the losses incurred during the 2020 demonstrations.

“Let’s tell our families and children that there is no protest in Lagos. It is a ploy to destroy the country,” she stated on Saturday at Dosunmu market.

“Look at the damage caused during the last protest (#EndSARS), with government properties burnt. This is an attack against us.

“Do not let any political party pay individuals to incite violence. Do not let our children get harmed in the process.

“Consider the businesses like ShopRite at Adeniran Ogunsanya, Sangotedo, and Lekki. Have the owners fully recovered from their losses?

“I implore you in the name of God, let’s communicate to our children that there is no protest in Lagos because the state government is making us proud and happy, giving us a sense of belonging.”

Tinubu-Ojo also stated that the federal government should be given three years in office before being critiqued.

“The federal government has just assumed office. Before judging its performance, let it spend three years,” she said.

“Everyone should tell their children at home to stay calm.”

The proposed youth-led nationwide protest is scheduled to start on August 1.

Both the federal and state governments, including President Bola Tinubu, have appealed to the youths to call off the protest. Religious and traditional institutions have also urged for its cancellation.
