Dapo Abiodun Appoints Tunde Onakoya Sports Ambassador

The Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has named National Chess Master Tunde Onakoya as the state’s Sports Ambassador following Onakoya’s record-breaking 60-hour chess marathon in Times Square, New York.
During a meeting at his office in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, the governor also announced a new state-wide chess competition in honor of Onakoya.
He praised Onakoya’s determination and hard work, highlighting his efforts to inspire youth through his “Chess in Slums Africa” foundation.
Onakoya expressed gratitude for the support he received from Nigerians and pledged to work with the government to promote chess among the state’s youth.
