Renowned Nollywood actor, Adebayo Salami, commemorates his half-century milestone in the entertainment industry.

Taking to Instagram on Thursday, the 72-year-old actor shared a vintage photo of himself alongside fellow colleagues, expressing gratitude to God for his enduring career and supportive family.

Reflecting on his journey, Salami emphasized that while actors may grow weary, retirement isn’t in their vocabulary, hinting at upcoming projects.

Born on May 9, 1953, Salami’s acting odyssey commenced in 1964 with the Young Concert Party, led by the legendary Ojo Ladipo, aka Baba Mero. Over the years, the troupe transformed, ultimately becoming the Awada Kerikeri Theatre Group, with Salami assuming leadership after Ladipo’s demise in 1978.

His cinematic debut in ‘Ajani Ogun’ marked the inception of a prolific career, further solidified by his directorial debut with ‘Ogun Ajaye’ in 1985 under the Awada Kerikeri banner. Since then, Salami has become a pivotal figure in the Yoruba film industry, excelling as an actor, director, and producer.
