Council of State Expresses Confidence in Tinubu’s Administration
The Council of State has expressed its confidence in the administration of President Bola Tinubu.
The council convened on Tuesday at the State House in Abuja, marking the first meeting since Tinubu assumed office as Nigeria’s president on May 29, 2023.
Comprised of former presidents and heads of state, the Council of State serves as an advisory body to the federal government on policy matters.
In attendance were former Presidents Goodluck Jonathan and Muhammadu Buhari, who joined the meeting in person, while former Heads of State Yakubu Gowon and Abdulsalami Abubakar participated virtually.
