Convention : Kwara APC Group Seeks Inclusion of young people in Party Activities

Ahead of the national convention of the All Progressives Congress, a group, Kwara Progressive Media organization (KMPO) Formerly Known as Kwara APC New media has called on the leadership of the party to improve the promotion of youth interests and Better inclusion of young people in the party Activities.

The Vocal Person of the group, Usman lade in a press conference on Monday assured the teeming members of APC in Kwara State that the group will continue to seek for rightful position in the Party through constructive engagement with the Party leadership.

He said, “In our own way, we are glad to inform you today that we recently flagged of the door-to-door PVC campaign exercise in Lade, Patigi LGA where we encouraged our teeming members to complement the effort of our great party by prioritizing the issue of voter registration and sensitization across all 193 wards in the State. In the same vein, the Party Leadership had also put in place PVC registration committee across the 16 LGAs in the state and work has since commenced in Ekiti LGA, Ilorin South LGA etc. We are informing the general public that this exercise will be conducted in all the 193 wards in the state.
It is our belief that this door-to-door PVC campaign will further prepare and rightly put our party members in a better position ahead of the victory expected at the 2023 general elections.”

“At this juncture, kindly permit us to remind you that the mandate given to Mallam AbdulRahman Abdulrazaq was given by the good people of Kwara State and well-meaning members of our great party. With utmost sincerity to this mandate, we are glad to use this opportunity to keep Kwarans, home and abroad abreast of all the giant strides that has been achieved in the past 31 months of Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq’s administration across all sectors in the three senatorial districts of the State despite the global economic challenges necessitated by the COVID-19 pandemic. We are proud to say, in many years, this is the first time the three senatorial districts will be experiencing such kind of inclusive development.”

“Whilst the Governor has completed many pro people driven projects in the state, we are glad to tell you that some ongoing projects of the administration include the Innovation Hub, Visual Arts Centre, Osi-Obbo Road, Garment Factory, Jebba water works, Lafiagi water works, Kwara radio Okuta, Ilesha-Gwanara Road, new Dental and Eye facilities at Ilorin General Hospital, Oro General Hospital, Lafiagi General Hospital, Kishi-Kaiama Road, International Conference Centre, the Tunde Idiagbon Bridge at Tanke, Special Agro processing Zone, garment factory, Offa Stadium upgrade and other sporting facilities.”

“Recently, the state executive council approved the dualisation of Yebumot Al -Hikmah University-Adeta Roundabout-Oloje road to ease traffic gridlock, lessen travel time and support industrialisation potentials of the state. Upgrade of Gbugbu market in Edu Local Government Area of the state to an international market, Patigi Regatta Hotel. With so much boldness and sincerity, we are proud to say there’s no local government in Kwara State where infrastructural projects are not being executed. Months ago, the Governor of Kwara State, Abdulrahman AbdulRazaq flagged off the construction and rehabilitation of 700 kilometres of rural roads under Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP) in Kwara State. This is a commendable project that will open up rural areas and improve social and economic activities around hinterland areas. “

Speaking further, Lade explained that there are no faction or leadership crisis in Kwara State All Progressive Congress (APC), saying that the party has one leadership in place led by Prince Sunday Fagbemi who was unanimously elected in the Recent State Congress certified by the national leadership of the party and monitored by the independent National electoral Commission (INEC).

He said, “we at the Kwara Progressive Media Organization (KPMO) say the era of godfatherism and self-servicing has ended in Kwara State courtesy of Kwarans during 2019 general elections and that should be allowed to stand. Anyone who wants to act or disguise under any form of unscrupulous agenda will be dealt with democratically, at the 2023 polls in a victory that will be christened OTOGE RELOADED.”

“Reiteratively, a lot has happened under the leadership of Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq and we assure the entire Kwarans home and abroad that the state is on course and committed to addressing the basic needs of its citizenry despite the harsh economic realities. From health sector, basic education, human capital development, safety net for the poor, water, to general infrastructural development, which indicates that Kwara has verifiably left Egypt for the good.”

“However, we won’t hesitate to adopt the Governor’s re-election bid when officially announced anytime soon in his effort to consolidate his achievement and all other magnificent ongoing projects across all the nooks and crannies of the State.”

Finally, we express our gratitude and deep appreciation to our indefatigable Kwara State Party Chairman-elect, Prince Sunday Fagbemi; the party PRO-elect, Alhaji Aro Folaranmi;Sulaiman Lawal, APC State Youth Leader and all members of the state executive, party elders and members of our great party for their cooperation at all levels in the interest of the overall unity of our party and the development of this state.” Lade Concluded.
