Chelsea Thrash Betis 4-1 to Win UEFA Conference League

Chelsea claimed the UEFA Conference League title with a dominant 4-1 comeback win over Real Betis on Wednesday in Wroclaw.

Despite Abde Ezzalzouli’s early opener for Betis, the Spanish side’s first major European final ended in heartbreak as Enzo Fernandez, Nicolas Jackson, Jadon Sancho, and Moises Caicedo all struck in the second half for Chelsea.

The victory marks Chelsea’s first major trophy since their 2021 Champions League triumph and makes them the first club to win four different UEFA titles.

On-loan Manchester United winger Antony featured for Betis, captained by ex-Madrid star Isco, while Chelsea’s second-half transformation was sparked by Cole Palmer’s assists and Reece James’ introduction.

For manager Enzo Maresca, it’s his first major silverware with the Blues and second overall after winning the English Championship earlier in 2024.
