CAF delists Nigeria vs Libya AFCON Qualifier Over Ill-Treatment Dispute

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has removed the Group D second-leg fixture of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers between Nigeria’s Super Eagles and Libya’s Mediterranean Knights.
On Tuesday, CAF released an updated fixture list on its X handle, which notably excluded the Libya vs. Nigeria match.
The game was initially slated for 8 p.m. on Tuesday in Libya, following the first leg at Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo, on Friday, where the Super Eagles secured a last-minute 1-0 victory.
However, the return leg became embroiled in controversy after Super Eagles players and officials recounted a grueling 14-hour ordeal at a Libyan airport, prompting their decision to return home.
