Burna Boy Misses Out on All 7 BET Awards Nominations
The Afro-fusion singer, Damini Ogulu, lost out on awards such as ‘Hip-Hop Artiste of the Year,’ ‘Lyricist of the Year,’ and ‘Best Live Performer of the Year’ to Kendrick Lamar, a renowned US rapper.

Burna Boy faced disappointment at the 2023 BET Awards, as he failed to secure victory in any of the seven categories he was nominated in.
The Afro-fusion singer, Damini Ogulu, lost out on awards such as ‘Hip-Hop Artiste of the Year,’ ‘Lyricist of the Year,’ and ‘Best Live Performer of the Year’ to Kendrick Lamar, a renowned US rapper.
Furthermore, his aspirations for ‘Hustler of the Year’ were dashed by 50 Cent, and the ‘Best Collaboration of the Year’ went to Lil Durk and J. Cole for ‘All My Life,’ instead of Burna Boy’s ‘Sittin’ On Top Of The World’ featuring 21 Savage.
Kendrick Lamar emerged as the night’s standout winner, securing four awards, with other notable winners including DJ Khaled, 50 Cent, and Ghana’s own Black Sherif.
The awards ceremony was held at Atlanta’s Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center on October 3 and was subsequently broadcast on Tuesday night.
