Buhari destroyed Nigeria’s economy – Shehu Sani
Sani highlighted that President Bola Tinubu’s implementation of certain economic policies, although controversial, should have been executed by Buhari, blaming his failure to do so for the current economic downturn.

Former Kaduna Central lawmaker, Senator Shehu Sani, asserted in an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today that former President Muhammadu Buhari is accountable for the current economic challenges in Nigeria, stressing that his administration fundamentally damaged the economy.
Sani highlighted that President Bola Tinubu’s implementation of certain economic policies, although controversial, should have been executed by Buhari, blaming his failure to do so for the current economic downturn.
Sani absolved Tinubu of responsibility for the situation, stating that Tinubu had been transparent about his intentions to remove subsidies during his campaign.
Sani emphasized that Nigerians were aware of Tinubu’s plans when they voted for him.
Despite protests by some Nigerians and the Nigeria Labour Congress over the economic hardship resulting from Tinubu’s policies, Sani maintained that the NLC’s right to protest should be respected, cautioning against potential unrest from unorganized civil society groups.
