Former Minister for Youth and Sports development, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi was on Monday appointed into the advisory board of Upskill Writing, a social enterprise that is committed to nurturing a large pool of writing talents and young professionals with proficient writing skills.
The appointment was conveyed in a letter signed by the Director and Founder, Upskill Writing, Agbaje Ayomide. Agbaje noted that Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi’s public service excellence and his record as an accomplished author and journalist make him highly recommended for the appointment.
He explained that beyond Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi’s record as a National Minister, he has continued to express his belief in Nigeria’s young population as the catalyst of growth and national prosperity.
“At Upskill Writing, we are extremely honoured to invite you to join our cause of skills and talent development, and social impact in a very crucial capacity” the letter read.
In his response, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi said he is honoured to be joining the advisory board of Upskill Writing. He described their work and social impact as highly commendable and promised to work with them to ensure that more young people are equipped with proficient writing skills.
As a social enterprise, Upskill writing is described as a one-stop platform where young people can gain writing skills for professional development, employability and effective communication in adequate preparation for the future of work.
It is also committed to provide platforms and opportunities for young talented writers by offering intensive training and mentorship programmes.
