Ayra Starr set to release second album ‘The Year I Turned 21’

Nigerian singer Ayra Starr has revealed the tracklist for her upcoming second album, ‘The Year I Turned 21.’
Starr announced the album’s title, cover art, and full tracklist on social media this Wednesday.
The 14-track album features a strong lineup of guest artists, including Giveon, the American R&B star; Anitta, the Brazilian pop singer; Coco Jones, the US vocalist; and Nigerian musicians Asake, Seyi Vibez, and Milar.
Tracks on the album include ‘Birds Sing Of Money’, ‘Goodbye (Warm Up)’, ‘Woman Commando’, ‘Control’, and ’21’.
Other songs on the album are ‘Lagos Love Story’, ‘Rhythm & Blues’, ‘Last Heartbreak Song’, ‘Bad Vibes’, ‘Orun’, ‘Jazzy’s Song’, ‘1942’, and ‘The Kids Are Alright’.
‘The Year I Turned 21′ is the follow-up to Starr’s successful debut album, ’19 & Dangerous’, released in 2021.
The new album is scheduled for release on May 31 via Universal Music.
Starr, whose real name is Oyinkansola Aderibigbe, became a viral sensation after her 2021 hit single ‘Bloody Samaritan.’
She was nominated for the Grammy Awards this year in the new ‘Best African Music Performance’ category for her track ‘Rush’, but lost to Tyla, a South African singer.
In February, Starr talked about her experience with imposter syndrome after the success of ‘Rush’.
“The song went viral immediately. Even a 30-second snippet was trending,” she said. “I started to feel imposter syndrome because I wasn’t used to that kind of success. It made me question whether I deserved it.”
