The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has confirmed the completion of the autopsy for the late singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad. This development was communicated via the NPF’s official channel on Thursday night.

Previously, the Lagos State Police Command’s spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, had announced the exhumation of Mohbad’s body for the autopsy.

In an official statement, the NPF stated, “The Nigeria Police Force wishes to inform the public that the autopsy procedure for Mr. Mohbad has been successfully completed.” It further noted that more information would be provided once the autopsy results are available.

Mohbad’s untimely death last Tuesday had raised concerns, with some pointing fingers at Afeez Fashola, professionally known as Naira Marley, the owner of Marlian Record Label. Additionally, there have been disputes among distant relatives regarding his estate in the days following his passing.

Questions were raised about the swift burial in Ikorodu, Lagos, immediately after his death, but his father clarified that it was in accordance with Yoruba customs.

Nigerian youths have organized peaceful protests demanding justice for Mohbad. Both the Nigeria Police and Lagos Police Command have pledged to investigate his death, and Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has called on the Department of State Service (DSS) to assist in the investigation.
