ASUU Strike : Buhari’s 2 Weeks Ultimatum Elapses

On Tuesday, July 19, 2022, President Muhammadu Buhari gave Malam Adamu Adamu, the Minister of Education, two weeks ultimatum to resolve the ongoing Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) strike.

In what appeared to be a displeasure to the ASUU strike which started on Valentine’s Day (February 14), Buhari, after receiving briefings from relevant government Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) involved in the ongoing efforts to end the face-off with the university unions, maintained that Adamu must resolve things before yesterday.

But as the ultimatum elapsed on Tuesday, August 2, 2022, the President was yet to take action, leaving many people to query Buhari’s Supremacy on his appointees.
