ASKOMP to train members on Journalism trends, practices

The Association of Kwara Online Media Practitioners (ASKOMP) will on Wednesday, July 17, 2024 hold one-day Capacity Building Training to equip members with trends and in journalism practice.
A statement issued on Tuesday by ASKOMP Secretary, Oyewale Oyelola in Ilorin says the training with the theme: Upholding Journalistic Standards in Digital Age will hold at Crystal House, Ilorin GRA by 10am.
According to him, Facilitators at ASKOMP One-day Capacity Building Training include Dr Sadudeen Abdulrasheed of the Department of Mass Communication, University of Ilorin and former Secretary of Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) Ilorin Chapter, Barrister Olateju.
While Kwara State Commissioner for Communications, Mrs Bola Olukoju, the Chief Press Secretary to Kwara Governor, Rafiu Ajakaye and Police Public Relations Officer of Kwara Command, DSP Ejire Adetoun Adeyemi will be Keynote Speakers.
He hinted that over 40 members of umbrella body of professional Online News Platforms operating in Kwara State are expected at training.
Oyelola said the Association will upload journalistic ethics and international best practices, noting that the refresher course is timely and critical amidst dynamics of journalism in Digital Age.
