Asisat Oshoala Wins Sixth CAF Women’s Player of the Year
The Super Falcons forward, excelling at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, also played a key role in FC Barcelona Femení’s triumph in the UEFA Women’s Champions League.
Nigeria’s Asisat Oshoala has clinches the 2023 CAF Women’s Player of the Year award for the sixth time.
The Super Falcons forward, excelling at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, also played a key role in FC Barcelona Femení’s triumph in the UEFA Women’s Champions League.
Oshoala secured the award by surpassing South Africa’s Thembi Kgathlana and Zambia’s Barbara Banda. Scoring 21 goals in 28 games, she contributed significantly to Barcelona Femení’s league title win.
With this victory, Oshoala now holds the record for the most awards in both male and female categories, surpassing Super Falcons legend Perpetua Nkwocha’s four wins.
Her previous wins include 2014, 2016, 2017, 2019, and 2022.
