Bay FC announced the signing in a statement on Thursday, revealing that Oshoala, 29, has committed to a two-year contract with an optional one-year extension until 2027.

Super Falcons striker, Asisat Oshoala, has officially joined Bay FC, a recently established National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) team, departing from FC Barcelona Femeni.
Bay FC announced the signing in a statement on Thursday, revealing that Oshoala, 29, has committed to a two-year contract with an optional one-year extension until 2027.
The move involved a transfer with FC Barcelona Femení, resulting in a transfer fee.
“Bay FC, the newly formed women’s professional soccer franchise in the NWSL, has secured the services of Nigerian international Asisat Oshoala in a transfer with FC Barcelona Femení.
The forward’s contract extends through the 2026 season, with an option for 2027, pending visa and International Transfer Certificate (ITC) processing. Oshoala will occupy an international roster spot.”
Having spent five successful years at FC Barcelona Femeni, Oshoala notched 107 goals in 149 appearances, securing two UEFA Women’s Champions League titles, four Spanish league titles, three Spanish Super Cups, and the Copa de la Reina.
In the 2022 season, she emerged as the joint top scorer in the Spanish league with 19 goals.
Oshoala’s accomplishments earned her multiple CAF women’s footballer of the year awards, and in 2023, she clinched the title of the continent’s best footballer for a record-extending sixth time.
Additionally, she was a two-time nominee for the women’s Ballon d’Or.
Bay FC, representing the Bay Area and San Francisco, is the 14th team to join the NWSL.
Established in April 2023, the club was co-founded by US Women’s national team legends Brandi Chastain, Leslie Osborne, Danielle Slaton, and Aly Wagner.
