Asake drops first single of 2024 ‘Only Me’
Serving as his first release of the year, the track delves into themes of self-discovery and unapologetic pride in personal achievements.

Nigerian singer Asake marked his birthday on January 13 by unveiling his latest single, ‘Only Me.’
Serving as his first release of the year, the track delves into themes of self-discovery and unapologetic pride in personal achievements.
Asake maintains his signature flow, infusing an irresistible dance beat while lyrically expressing his independence and gratitude as a “child of grace.”
The song’s chorus emphasizes handling responsibilities solo, and Asake, born Ahmed Ololade, has been making waves since gaining prominence in 2020 with his hit ‘Lady.’
He joined the YBNL record label in February 2022 and earned a Grammy nomination for ‘Amapiano’ in collaboration with rapper Olamide. In 2023, Asake received the music prize at the Future Awards.
