Ligue 1 side, Stade de Reims has advanced in signing Nigerian descent striker, Folarin Jerry Balogun on loan from Arsenal.
With medicals set to take place soon, Fabrizio Romano disclosed that the English man only accepted to join the French side amid proposals from other clubs.
“Reims is closing on a loan deal to sign Folarin Balogun from Arsenal, set to be agreed upon until June 2023. Romano tweeted.
“Balogun has received proposals also from PL clubs but he’s prepared to accept Reims.
“Medical could take place early next week, waiting for details to be resolved.”
Born in the USA and raised in England, the Nigerian descent began his football career at Arsenal at just 8 years old, after being scouted.
The forward will later sign a professional contract with the club in February 2019.
He made his senior debut in the Europa League on 29 October 2020, coming on as a substitute in the 74th minute in a group stage match against Dundalk.
The 21-years-old scored his first senior goal on 26 November 2020, in a Europa League group stage match against Molde.
On 12 January 2022, he joined EFL Championship club Middlesbrough on a loan deal until the end of the season.
