The Nigerian Army has refuted reports suggesting that the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, has passed away.

The rumors, which began circulating on social media, originated from a post by a Nigerian journalist who claimed that Lagbaja died of cancer 48 hours ago in an undisclosed overseas hospital.
