Appeal Court Backs Governor Bala Mohammed’s Bauchi Victory, Rejects APC’s Unsubstantiated Claims
The All Progressives Congress (APC) had filed an appeal led by Sadique Abubakar, challenging the tribunal’s decision that affirmed Mohammed’s win.
The Abuja Division of the Appeal Court has upheld the victory of Governor Bala Mohammed in the Bauchi State governorship election held on March 18.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) had filed an appeal led by Sadique Abubakar, challenging the tribunal’s decision that affirmed Mohammed’s win.
The three-judge panel unanimously ruled in favor of Governor Mohammed, stating that the APC failed to provide sufficient evidence for allegations of improperly filled election forms, non-compliance with electoral laws, and fraudulent actions favoring the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate.
The court commended the tribunal for its thorough examination of the evidence.
No costs were awarded, and the decision favored the first respondent, Governor Bala Mohammed.
