APC Wins Chairmanship In All Gombe LGs

The All Progressives Congress (APC) won all 11 chairmanship seats in Gombe State’s local government elections, held yesterday.

Out of the five participating parties, including the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Young People’s Party (YPP), Accord, and Zenith Labour Party (ZLP), APC also claimed all 114 councillorship positions unopposed.

The returning officer, Sa’idu Awak, confirmed the APC’s dominance, noting that in Gombe, the APC’s Sani Haruna received 72,286 votes, while the PDP candidate got just 1,678. In Kwami, Ahmed Doho (APC) polled 29,073 votes, while the PDP candidate received 1,930.

In other local government areas, the APC’s lead continued. In Balanga, Ibrahim Salisu won with 35,493 votes to the PDP’s 184. In Billiri, Egla Idris secured 33,979 votes against PDP’s 2,088. Mohammed Adamu of the APC triumphed in Akko with 65,066 votes, the PDP garnering only 3,058.

In Funakaye, APC’s Shuaibu Abdulrahman polled 36,026 votes against the PDP’s 3,094. Abubakar Difa of the APC won in Yamaltu-Deba with 57,546 votes, while the PDP received 1,334. In Dukku, Adamu Waziri (APC) scored 26,869 votes to the PDP’s 4,821. In Nafada, Babangida Adamu secured 17,977 votes against the PDP’s 355.
