APC Secures Landslide Victory in Kogi LGA Elections, Wins All 21 Chairmanship Seats

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has achieved a sweeping victory in the recent local government area (LGA) elections held in Kogi State, securing all 21 chairmanship positions.
The APC also claimed all 239 available councillorship seats, according to Mamman Nda-Eri, the chairperson of the Kogi State Independent Electoral Commission (KOSIEC).
Nda-Eri described the elections as “peaceful, free, and fair,” highlighting the APC’s dominant performance against the 18 other political parties that participated in the polls.
He confirmed that the results announced at the KOSIEC headquarters aligned with those declared earlier at various collation centers by the returning officers.
Expressing appreciation, Nda-Eri acknowledged the efforts of election officials, security personnel, observers, and journalists in ensuring a smooth electoral process.
A notable outcome from the election was the emergence of a woman as the chairperson for Ogori-Magongo LGA.
In a move to promote gender inclusivity, the Kogi APC had previously reserved vice-chairperson positions across LGAs for women and allocated 40 percent of councillorship tickets to female candidates.
