APC denies granting automatic tickets to n’assembly members

The All Progressives Congress (APC) says a report claiming the party has granted automatic tickets to all members of the national assembly is false.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, Felix Morka, national publicity secretary of the APC, described the report as “mischievous”.
“The attention of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been drawn to a purported Breaking News Report tagged ‘APC Grants Automatic Tickets to All National Assembly Members’ in viral circulation,” the statement reads.
“The report is FAKE NEWS and should be disregarded in its entirety as it did not emanate from our great Party.
“We urge all party members and the general public to disregard the report as fake and of mischievous origin.”
On Tuesday, the APC said former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, ex-minister Rotimi Amaechi and Nasir el-Rufai, former governor of Kaduna, are united by a desperate desire to return to power for personal gain.
The party said the politicians, who made critical remarks about President Bola Tinubu’s economic policies during Amaechi’s 60th birthday lecture in Abuja on May 31, are simply “frustrated rent-seekers clinging to a fading political relevance”.
