AOIHD launches educational project for Madrasa in Kwara state

AlMaruf Organization for Islamic and Human Developments on Saturday launched educational project in efforts to develop traditional Islamic schools and build future minds in Kwara state.

The program which was in collaboration with Omokewu Initiative took place at Fomwan Hall, Opposite Shoprite, Fate road in Ilorin the state capital.

During the event, the renowned islamics scholar and Dean school of Post graduates studies, Kwara state university Malete; Professor Hamza Ishola Abdulraheem delivered lecture on the topic; Challenges facing Islamic schools in Kwara state and suggested solutions. The faithful however, called on government to support and establish a special program for Madrasa in the state.

Speaking with news men shortly after the program, Dr. Maarouf Raji Owoyemi who is the founder of AlMaruf, explained that the main reason behind the initiative, is the act of unifying Arab and Islamic schools, adding that ‘some of my mentors see that Muslims are divided in curriculum, opinion, methodology, etc.’

He said, “We need to add and support the efforts of our fathers so that we can being the Islamic schools to the higher level.

“We have AlMaruf Global works in Nigeria where we take people to Hajj & Umrah and we have AlMaruf cleaning service in Malaysia and in all things that we are doing as a business, we have dedicated 30% from our annual profit to fund our organization where we would be taking care of Madrasas.”

Dr. Marouf added added that, “after Ramadan, we would start visiting schools and we would bring scholars who can bring Ash-rahana (Making Islamic schools the same level with western schools).”

At the event were Grand Khadi Kwara Sharia court of appeal; Hon. Justice Abdullateef Kamaldeen, Dean school of Post graduates studies, Kwara state university Malete; Professor Hamza Ishola Abdulraheem, former dean school of post graduates studies, university of Ilorin; Professor Badmas Olarewaju Yusuf, members of AlMaruf Organization for Islamic and Human Developments, Madrasa students in Kwara state and notable Islamic scholars who are numerous to mention.
