Aisha Yesufu Labels Tribunal Verdict on Tinubu’s Win as Theatrical
Yesufu, co-founder of #BringBackOurGirls, stated that she would not accept Tinubu as her president due to alleged election rigging.

Social rights activist Aisha Yesufu has criticized the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal’s decision to uphold President Bola Tinubu’s victory, likening it to a staged film by the justices.
Yesufu, co-founder of #BringBackOurGirls, stated that she would not accept Tinubu as her president due to alleged election rigging.
A five-member panel, led by Justice Haruna Tsammani, dismissed petitions brought by the opposition parties, including the Peoples Democratic Party, the Labour Party, and the Allied Peoples Movement. Tsammani confirmed Tinubu as the duly elected President of Nigeria.
In response, Yesufu called it a political coup, emphasizing the need to reclaim the people’s mandate. She criticized the proceedings for lacking transparency, alleging bias on the part of the judges.
Yesufu had supported Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, during the 2023 election.
