Aggrieved Party Members Protest PDP Primaries in Kwara

Some members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara state have showed grievances over the outcome of the primaries conducted by the party for the seat of Ilorin East/South federal constituency.
They alleged that the exercise that was held yesterday was fraught with irregularities that called for outright cancellation, stressing that Alhaji Wahabi Issa announced himself as the winner while the election is inconclusive.
Speaking with newsmen at the party’s secretariat in Ilorin, One of Aspirants who is jostling for the seat, Hon. Saka Yusuf Eletu, expressed dissatisfaction over the outcome of the primaries, adding that violence broke out and the exercise was hijacked by thugs and the ballot papers was carted away.
He said, “He doesn’t emerge the winner because the election is inconclusive and there was an invalid votes.”
“According the PDP constitution, electoral officers to be present was supposed to be five with chairman among but three officers were presents which is not suppose to be so”
The Aspirant however called on the party leaders and stakeholders to do the needful inorder to avert any further crisis in the party.
Our correspondent gathered that the protest came up hours after Wahab Issa was announced as the party’s flag bearer.
