Again, EFCC Set to Arraign Ex-Minister Sirika and Brother for Alleged Corruption Charges

Once more, the EFCC is set to bring former Minister Sirika and his brother before Justice Belgore of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court in Abuja on Tuesday.
They face an 8-count charge for alleged misconduct. Sirika, his daughter, and two others were recently granted bail of N100 million each in a separate case involving allegations of abuse of office amounting to N2.7 billion.
The charges include accusations that Sirika used his position to award contracts to family members and associates.
The court has imposed stringent bail conditions, including the provision of two sureties with Abuja properties and a ban on international travel without court permission.
Failure to meet bail conditions could result in remand in prison custody.
Sirika was previously detained and questioned in April over various allegations including his involvement in the Nigeria Air project and financial irregularities during his tenure as Minister of Aviation under President Buhari’s administration.
