AFCON : Super eagles Goalkeeper gives update on Injury ahead of Q’final Clash
Despite sustaining an injury during the 2-0 victory over Cameroon, Nwabali, who has been Nigeria’s primary goalkeeper in the tournament, remains hopeful about playing in the upcoming matches.

Stanley Nwabali, the goalkeeper for Super Eagles and Chippa United, is determined to make a swift return to action for Nigeria at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations.
Despite sustaining an injury during the 2-0 victory over Cameroon, Nwabali, who has been Nigeria’s primary goalkeeper in the tournament, remains hopeful about playing in the upcoming matches.
The injury occurred when he was fouled by Georges-Kevin N’Koudou while saving a cross, leading to doubts about his availability for the next game and the remainder of the competition.
Nwabali, who has been in goal for all of Nigeria’s four games at AFCON, including the pre-tournament friendly, conveys a positive outlook.
He has conceded just once in four AFCON appearances and three times in five games for the country, keeping three clean sheets.
While awaiting further scans to assess the injury’s extent, the 27-year-old goalkeeper expresses confidence in returning stronger, emphasizing his commitment to contributing to Nigeria’s pursuit of a fourth AFCON title.
The team awaits the team doctors’ diagnosis to determine if Nwabali will be fit for the quarter-final clash against Angola.
