Abba Yusuf Meets Ribadu in Abuja

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State met with Malam Nuhu Ribadu, the National Security Adviser, on Thursday at Ribadu’s office in Abuja.
Although details of their discussion were not disclosed, Governor Yusuf described the meeting as a “fruitful engagement” with the NSA.
This meeting occurred amidst the ongoing dispute over the Kano throne. Governor Yusuf had recently deposed Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero as Emir of Kano and reinstated Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi.
In response to his actions, the governor directed the police to arrest Ado Bayero for “creating tension” in the state. Despite this, Ado Bayero established his own court at the mini Palace in Nassarawa and received military protection, suggesting he had the support of the Federal Government.
Deputy Governor Comrade Aminu Abdulsalam Gwarzo accused Ribadu of backing Ado Bayero’s return to Kano after his dethronement. Ribadu denied this allegation and threatened to sue Gwarzo unless he apologized.
The deputy governor has since issued an unreserved apology to Ribadu, stating that he was misled.
