25 Lives Lost as Petrol Tanker Collides with Truck and Bus

In a tragic incident in Kwara state, 25 individuals lost their lives, and 15 sustained injuries in a collision involving a petrol tanker, a heavy-duty truck, and an 18-seater bus. 

According to Thecable.ng report, The unfortunate event unfolded at Peke, Okoolowo area, along Jebba-Bode-Saadu road in Moro LGA.

The petrol tanker, en route from Niger state, collided head-on with a heavy-duty truck from Lagos state, triggering a fierce blaze that also engulfed the bus from Lagos. 

The Kwara fire service, led by spokesperson Hassan Adekunle, diligently worked to contain the inferno.

Investigations revealed that the tanker, traveling on the wrong side of the road, instigated the head-on collision. 

Regrettably, 25 lives were lost, and approximately 15 people were rescued with injuries. 

This heartbreaking incident follows a recent auto crash in the state where eight individuals, including four children, perished due to over-speeding, wrongful overtaking, and poor visibility on the Omu-Aran-Ilorin highway. 

The sector commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps in Kwara, Stephen Dawulung, attributed that accident to these factors, leaving six others injured.
