Bala Mohammed, chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors’ Forum and governor of Bauchi State, expressed the party’s determination to reclaim all leadership positions currently held by other parties.

He made these remarks during the forum’s meeting in Enugu on Wednesday.

The PDP governors arrived in Enugu on Tuesday to strategize ahead of the off-cycle governorship elections in Edo and Ondo states.

Mohammed emphasized that the forum’s meeting was aimed at unifying members and discussing strategies to advance both the party and the nation.

“Today, we are here to unify ourselves, address issues affecting the party, and discuss various matters internally,” he stated. “Our agenda will cover governance across party administration, inter-party affairs, congresses, and other initiatives to provide Nigerians with a credible alternative.”

Mohammed also stressed that the PDP would not allow Nigeria to descend into chaos, highlighting the party’s shared history and aspirations for the country. “It is high time the party reclaimed its leadership position in all states currently occupied by other parties,” he said.

The forum chairman praised Peter Mbah, the governor of Enugu, for organizing a successful meeting and ensuring the governors’ comfort since their arrival.

Governors in attendance included Siminalayi Fubara (Rivers), Seyi Makinde (Oyo), Umo Eno (Akwa-Ibom), Sheriff Oborevwori (Delta), Godwin Obaseki (Edo), Caleb Mutfwang (Plateau), Agbu Kefas (Taraba), Dauda Lawal (Zamfara), Douye Diri (Bayelsa), and Ahmed Fintiri (Adamawa).

In February, Mohammed reiterated the PDP’s readiness to offer Nigerians a better alternative and called on party members to unite and strategize to prevent Nigeria from becoming a one-party state.
