2027 election: LP considers automatic tickets for Obi, Otti
The Labour Party, at its national convention in Nnewi, Anambra State, decided to reserve its 2027 presidential ticket for Peter Obi, who ran as their candidate in the 2023 election.
The decision, outlined in a communiqué signed by Julius Abure and Umar Ibrahim, recognized Obi’s contributions before, during, and after the 2023 election.
Additionally, the party recommended that the governorship ticket be reserved for Alex Otti, the Governor of Abia State.
Despite some controversy and calls for Abure’s resignation, he was re-elected as the party’s chair.
The convention also addressed national concerns, urging President Bola Tinubu to address the worsening security situation and economic challenges faced by Nigerians.
