2027 : El-Rufai’s Son Posts SDP Logo Amidst Father’s Defection Rumors
Bashir El-Rufai, son of the immediate past governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, stirred political discussions on Monday after posting the logo of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) on his verified Facebook page.
The post, which contained no caption or explanation, comes amid growing speculations about his father’s possible defection from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Nasir El-Rufai has reportedly been holding consultations with key political figures across the country, including former President Muhammadu Buhari and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, in what is believed to be efforts towards forming a mega political coalition to challenge President Bola Tinubu and the APC in the 2027 presidential election.
Despite these speculations, the former governor has consistently denied any plans to leave the APC, maintaining that he remains a member of the party.
