Kwara state chapter of the Young Progressives Party, YPP on Friday received decampees from the the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC, main opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Social Democratic Party, SDP and Action Democracy Congress, ADC in Share, Ifelodun LGA of the state.
The decampees led by the former Ifelodun SDP Chairman, Oladele Ismail, were from Igbaja ward (1, 2 & 3), Agunji ward, Oke-Ode ward (1,2 & 3) and Share ward (1, 2, 3, 4 & 5), complained about the bad leadership and poor governance by the current state government led by Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq.
Some of the decampees who spoke to our correspondent said, “YPP are full of patriotic and visionary leaders who have never assume a public offices before and we definitely believe that we will enjoy true dividend of democracy under their governance.
“We were deceived by APC in 2019, our expectations was to have a good leadership under them after we voted out PDP, but, it is unfortunate for us that our constituency representatives disappointed us. That’s why we decided to join YPP because we believe the party has a true service to the people.”
Receiving the decampees, Kwara YPP Deputy Governorship candidate; Hon. Bolujoko George, who appreciated them for joining YPP, charged the decampees to canvass for support and vote YPP at all levels.
He said, “I’m glad to welcome you all to our party, YPP, the party that has a vision and something good to offer Kwarans. I use this moment to pledge to you that, we won’t make you regret your actions if we assume power in 2023, you won’t be disappointed and we won’t make fake promises just as other parties have been doing.”
The event which was yesterday at Share Garage, Ifelodun LGA was witnessed by Ifelodun LG YPP chairman; Omodara Olaniyi, YPP candidate for Ifelodun/Offa/Oyun federal constituency; Hon. Pillar Adepoju Oluwafemi, YPP senatorial Chairman; Elder Sholadoye, YPP State HoA candidate for Omupo constituency; Hon. Oluwaseun Iyiola Ajibola, YPP HoA candidate for Share/Oke-Ode constituency; Hon. Kunle Ajibola among others.
