The Nigeria’s ex-military Head of State, Abdulsalami Abubakar has declared his support for the candidacy of Prof Christopher Imumolen, the 2023 Accord Party (AP) presidential candidate.
Abubakar made this revelation when the presidential flagbearer visited him at his home in Minna, capital of Niger State.
The retired military leader has revealed that Nigeria was in dire need of energetic and youthful leaders like Imumolen, reaffirming that it was high time the old guard quit the scene.
“The old ones should fade away gracefully and allow young people to take over. What we can do as former leaders is to tutor them in whatever way we can in order for them to lead the country.
“As a matter of fact, this is the time Nigerians should begin to support young, vibrant and visionary leaders that would steer the country on the path of glory,” he said.
While addressing newsmen, Imumolen reaffirmed his position on the role the next generation of leaders should play in moving the country to greater heights.
The presidential candidate also
also emphasized the urgency to reposition the country on the path of progress, development and sustainable growth.
“Nigerians should start looking at selecting those who have a track record in leadership at various levels from both the private and public sector”, he added
